AI Days 2024 brought together practitioners, researchers and people beginning to explore how artificial intelligence can be used in their organizations. Sympulse took part in three sessions organized by prg.ai. Each addressed a different practical question, from working with external AI specialists to developing internal skills and evaluating language models for the Czech Republic.
Choosing partners for AI projects
How should companies select partners for AI projects and set up the work to produce useful results? That question led the discussion AI Consultants and Vendors: Uncensored, where Michal Ambler joined other specialists to examine:
- Selecting suppliers and setting clear objectives
- The advantages and limitations of insourcing and outsourcing
- Avoiding vendor lock-in while preparing AI solutions to scale
The session gave participants an opportunity to compare approaches and discuss lessons from their own AI projects.
Designing AI training around business needs
AI training works best when it reflects what an organization is trying to accomplish and the skills its people need. In the Designing AI Training Strategies workshop, Kateřina Tarantová guided participants through three parts of that process:
- Identifying the skills required to meet business objectives
- Designing a training plan around organizational needs
- Developing practical AI and data science skills
Does the Czech Republic need its own large language model?
A panel at Kampus Hybernská examined whether the Czech Republic needs a large language model of its own. Michal Ambler moderated the discussion with Lukáš Kačena from prg.ai. The panel brought together:

- Diana Hlaváčová, Seznam.cz
The discussion covered the localization of language models for Czech users, possible applications in education and public administration, and the costs and long-term operation such a model would involve.
Continuing the discussion
