Forecasting renewable generation, managing the transmission grid and optimizing consumption are some of the areas where AI can support the energy sector. Representatives from major energy companies, academic institutions and AI solution providers met at Kampus Hybernská to discuss how these applications can be developed and used in practice.
The meeting marked the start of a working group focused on AI in energy. Michal Ambler helped initiate the group alongside Přemysl Voráč, Pavel Csank and Lubos Muller.
Topics for the working group
The group is intended as a long-term forum for exchanging technical and industry knowledge. Future meetings will examine subjects including anomaly detection in transmission grids and time-series forecasting.
Similar informal working groups have supported collaboration across institutions in other fields, including the impact of generative AI on higher education. The energy group applies the same format to technical questions shared by energy companies, researchers and AI specialists.
Thank you to prg.ai, Kampus Hybernská and everyone who took part in the first meeting.
