Role overview
AI engineering for client work
You will join project teams that design and build AI applications for clients, from early technical decisions through integration and rollout. The work combines software engineering, applied machine learning and direct collaboration with the people who will use and run each system.
Responsibilities
- Turn an open business problem into technical scope, success measures and a build plan.
- Design and build AI applications in Python, using APIs, data pipelines, retrieval and model orchestration where the work calls for them.
- Create evaluation datasets and measures for output quality, reliability, latency, cost and safety.
- Connect applications to existing data sources, identity services and business systems.
- Add logging, tracing and monitoring, and investigate failures before rollout.
- Explain technical choices to clients, document the system and support handover.
Requirements
- Professional experience building software, data products or machine learning systems used by other people.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, backed by sound software engineering practice.
- Experience with APIs, cloud services, version control, automated testing and code review.
- Practical work with LLM or machine learning systems, including evaluation, retrieval, tool use or model monitoring.
- Ability to compare approaches across output quality, reliability, latency, cost and security.
- Clear written and spoken communication with technical and nontechnical colleagues and clients.
