Harnessing AI in Energy: How to Maximize Its Potential?

Predicting renewable energy production, managing transmission networks, or optimizing consumption—AI is already helping save money in these areas. But how can we maximize its potential?

We discussed this at the first meeting of a new working group on AI in energy. Representatives from energy giants, academic sphere and AI solution providers gathered in one place (special thanks to Kampus Hybernská for hosting us). This meeting was certainly not the last. We agreed that the platform makes the most sense in the long term. Next time, we will focus on topics such as anomaly detection in the transmission network or time series forecasting.

Informal meetings like these play an invaluable role. We’ve already seen this approach work with similar initiatives—such as the inter-university working group on the impact of generative AI on higher education.

A big thank you to Michal Ambler, Přemysl Voráč, Pavel Csank, Lubos Muller, and everyone who took the time to participate in this initial spark of collaboration.
